Common Dreams

I am sure you have all had one of these common dreams recently - a dream of being chased by something terrifying, or perhaps someone you care about got injured while you watched on helplessly.

Perhaps you were driving a car on treacherous roads where you couldn't see? Or maybe your common dream was turning up to an exam only to realise that you hadn't been to a class all year.

Yes, falling from a great height, turning up to a party naked or just missing a plane all come under this category of dreams as well.

And the reason I know this is because these dreams occur every night we go to sleep in every country in every household across the globe.

They transcend culture and class and have existed in the dreaming minds of humans long before man could even write. 

Our dreaming brains borrow common symbols from the world around us that have arisen from our human evolution or our cultural background. And these symbols are similar to all of us in our dreams.

So our dreams are a combination of personal associations and these dream themes.
